Job summary

Jobgether is seeking a Director of Electrical Engineering based in Switzerland to lead the design authority for mission-critical AI infrastructure. You will define scalable power architectures and oversee standards, reference designs, and project execution across multiple regions, driving safety, reliability, and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; Chartered/PE preferred.
• Significant leadership experience in data centre or mission-critical electrical engineering.
• Deep technical expertise in data centre power distribution (medium- and low-voltage, UPS, standby generation).
• Proven track record developing electrical design standards, reference designs, or basis-of-design docs for hyperscale data centres.
• Hands-on design delivery experience for high-density AI/HPC power infrastructure.
• Understanding GPU cluster power needs and dynamic load effects on facility design.
• Familiarity with IEC and NEC electrical codes and standards in Europe and North America.
• Strong commercial judgement balancing capex, schedules, reliability, and performance.
• Excellent communication to both technical and executive stakeholders.
• Collaborative leadership to empower multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Establish technical direction as electrical design authority across the global portfolio.
• Develop and maintain electrical design standards, specs, and basis-of-design for the power chain.
• Contribute to AI facility reference designs balancing performance, reliability, and energy efficiency.
• Own the overall power architecture including UPS, generation, and rack distribution.
• Collaborate with technology teams to align facility power with rack/GPU/network requirements.
• Provide specialist electrical engineering support to active projects and resolve design challenges.
• Monitor AI hardware trends and translate into updated engineering standards.
• Lead electrical design reviews and ensure compliance with standards.
• Coordinate with other engineers to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective designs.
• Mentor engineers and build the electrical engineering team as the pipeline grows.
• Report progress and risks to Senior Director of Infrastructure Engineering.
