Job summary

EPFL in Lausanne invites a Cryogenic Electron Microscopist to join the Dubochet Center for Imaging (DCI). You will operate, maintain and troubleshoot high-end cryo-EM instruments, including Glacios and Titan Krios, and support researchers from EPFL, UNIL and external clients.

You will prepare samples, acquire data for SPA and cryo-ET, process images, help interpret structures, and contribute to platform development while delivering reliable, user-focused service in a fast-paced, collaborative

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in structural biology or related field with cryo-EM experience.
• At least one year of hands-on cryo-EM experience covering operation, support, and data handling.
• Experience with cryo-EM software cryoSPARC, IMOD/eTomo, and Scipion.
• Experience with SPA and/or cryo-ET workflows desirable.
• Excellent communication in English; strong motivation to explore new domains.

Responsibilities

• Cryo-EM sample preparation and data acquisition for SPA and cryo-ET.
• Operate and maintain Glacios and Titan Krios instruments; troubleshoot issues.
• Perform on-the-fly and offline data processing and image analysis.
• Contribute to development of the DCI cryo-EM platform and ensure high service levels.
• Advise researchers from EPFL, UNIL and external customers across project stages.
