Food research and development in Switzerland is seeking a lead for pilot-scale bioprocessing, bridging lab-scale work to industrial manufacturing. You will drive fermentation development, optimize media and feeding strategies, and shape downstream processing to boost yield and product quality.

• Strong expertise in fermentation, bioprocessing and pilot or industrial-scale operations.

You lead pilot-scale bioprocessing activities, combining fermentation and downstream processing to bridge lab-scale research and industrial manufacturing.

• Drive fermentation process development, optimizing media, feeding strategies and operating parameters
• Develop downstream processing approaches to improve yield, recovery and product quality

• Contribute to safe, compliant and high-quality pilot plant operations via risk assessment and documentation
• Shape development of new biotech pilot plant capabilities by translating process needs into equipment solutions

Profile

• Strong expertise in fermentation, bioprocessing and pilot or industrial-scale operations
• Knowledge of scale-up, technology transfer and industrialization
• Analytical thinking and use of process data and automation tools for troubleshooting and optimization
• Experience collaborating across research, engineering, operations, quality and safety teams
• Confident communication and presentation skills in French or English
