Job summary

Food research and development in Switzerland is seeking a lead for pilot-scale bioprocessing, bridging lab-scale work to industrial manufacturing. You will drive fermentation development, optimize media and feeding strategies, and shape downstream processing to boost yield and product quality.

Collaborating across research, engineering, operations, quality and safety teams, you will use data analytics and automation insights to build robust process understanding and ensure compliant,

Qualifications

• Strong expertise in fermentation, bioprocessing and pilot or industrial-scale operations.
• Knowledge of scale-up, technology transfer and industrialization.
• Analytical thinking and use of process data and automation tools for troubleshooting and optimization.

Responsibilities

• Lead pilot-scale bioprocess trials translating research into scalable manufacturing.
• Drive fermentation process development optimizing media, feeding strategies and operating parameters.
• Develop downstream processing approaches to improve yield, recovery and product quality.
• Build process understanding through data analysis, automation insights and digital tools.
• Contribute to safe, compliant and high-quality pilot plant operations via risk assessment.
• Shape development of new biotech pilot plant capabilities translating needs into equipment solutions.
