Job summary

ACCH FMC IP Technology GmbH in Schaffhausen, Switzerland is seeking a Microbial Fermentation & DSP Bioprocess Expert to lead global bioprocessing activities. You will support process development, scale-up, tech transfer, and continuous improvement across projects, interfacing with R&D, Tech Centres and manufacturing sites.

The role requires a degree in Biochemical/Chemical Engineering and 10–15 years of fermentation and downstream processing experience, with strong leadership and communication

Qualifications

• Degree in Biochemical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, or related discipline.
• 10–15 years of relevant fermentation and DSP experience.
• Strong knowledge of process control and optimization for bioprocesses.

Responsibilities

• Act as global SME for industrial bioprocessing (fermentation and downstream).
• Optimize commercial-scale processes for yield, productivity, robustness, cycle time, stability and cost.
• Analyse process data, identify trends, lead root-cause investigations and troubleshooting.
• Lead/support scale-up/down and technology transfer from lab to manufacturing.
• Drive innovation and data-driven process optimization across platforms.
• Provide input to fermentation-related CAPEX projects and techno-economic assessments.
• Develop and maintain technical standards and knowledge transfer across sites.
• Provide on-site support for critical campaigns and mentor colleagues.
