Job summary

Randstad Switzerland is assisting a multinational pharma client in Lucerne to fill an Associate Supply Chain Specialist, Distribution. You will coordinate material shipments, align distribution with stakeholders, and ensure import/export compliance for GMP‑driven operations.

The role requires 3–5 years in trade compliance/logistics in pharma, with a Bachelor’s/Master’s in supply chain a plus, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years experience within trade compliance, logistics or operations role within a pharmaceutical company.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in supply chain and logistics is an advantage.
  • Excellent command of English, both written and verbal – ability to work within all levels of the organisation from shopfloor staff to site leadership team.
  • Good influencing / collaboration skills and teamwork mindset.
  • Strong analytical and priority management skills.
  • Ability to execute small projects to agreed timelines.
  • Excellent trouble shooting and problem-solving skills, ability to challenge the status quo with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Computer literate with advanced skills in MS Office, especially Excel.
  • SAP knowledge is an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Initiate and coordinate all material shipments (drug substance, process intermediate samples, PCC materials, etc).
  • Distribution activities aligned with internal and external stakeholders (export/import, manufacturing, planning).
  • Prepare shipping documents for export and import per global trade compliance standards and GDP (packing lists, certificates, GTAS entries, etc).
  • Ensure compliance with country-specific import requirements and licenses.
  • Serve as main contact for internal teams and external stakeholders on distribution topics.
  • Support a standardized shipping technology platform and local shipping tech qualifications.
  • Oversee local drug substance inventory and storage capacity (inventory forecasts, cycle counting, disposals).
  • Coordinate material movements between internal and external storage and vice versa.
  • Coordinate on-site cold chain material movements per maintenance plan.
  • Support GMP documentation (memos, SOPs, work instructions).
  • Support supply chain team on quality/compliance issues (change notifications, investigations, change controls, risk assessments).
  • Build strong relationships with internal/external stakeholders to create value for the site.
  • Initiate and formulate proposals/business cases for improvement projects with deliverables and timelines.

Job description

On behalf of our Client, an international pharma company based in canton Lucerne, we are looking for an Associate Supply Chain Specialist, Distribution.

In this role, you will work closely with above site supply chain team, local quality, tech transfer, project planning teams, import/export department and manufacturing operations as well as other self-directed work teams in the site’s value stream.

  • Home office: possible, hybrid role
Tasks & Responsibilities:
  • Initiate and coordinate of all material shipments (drug substance, process intermediate samples, PCC materials, etc).
  • Distribution activities are aligned in close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders (e.g. export/Import departments, manufacturing operations, project planning teams, receiving site).
  • Prepare shipping documents for export and import to the destination country in accordance with the Global Trade Compliance Standard and Good Distribution Practices (packing lists, dangerous goods declaration, issuing Certificates of Origin, entries in GTAS, price establishment for customs, etc.).
  • Ensure compliance with country-specific import requirements, qualification of supply lane and availability of import / distribution license.
  • Serve as the main point of contact and advisor for both internal teams and external stakeholders, providing guidance and support for distribution topics.
  • Contribute to a standardized shipping technology platform. Support local shipping technology qualifications.
  • Oversight of local drug substance / process intermediate samples inventory and storage capacity (annual capacity / occupancy forecast, cycle counting, disposal requests, etc.).
  • Coordinate material movements from internal to external storage and vice versa.
  • Coordinate and execute material movements for on site cold chain material in accordance with the utility maintenance plan.
  • Support the supply chain team with GMP documentation (memos, SOPs, work instructions, etc)
  • Support supply chain team on quality and compliance related issues through supplier change notifications, investigations, change controls, quality risk assessments etc.
  • Build an excellent relationship with internal and external stakeholders to ensure value is created and delivered for the site.
  • Initiate and formulate proposals / business cases for improvement projects including deliverables and planning for the development and implementation of proposed improvements.
