Hitachi Energy is seeking an Applications Engineer for charging infrastructure solutions in Europe. You will shape high-level technical concepts from initial engagement through tendering and support their refinement during project execution.

You will collaborate with customers, Sales, Tendering, Product Management and engineering teams to develop optimized, fit-for-purpose solutions for public and commercial transport, ensuring design intent is preserved during delivery.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline with emphasis on power systems, power electronics or power system studies.
• 5 years of experience in application, power systems engineering, including DC power supply, power electronics, MV/LV distribution, industrial electrification or equivalent.
• Sound understanding of AC/DC distribution, power conversion, transformers, switchgear, protection and control, power quality and grid-connection principles.
• Experience in developing technical concepts and converting customer requirements into system architectures and compliant offers.
• Willingness to travel for customer meetings, events, workshops and project support.

Aufgaben

• Engage with customers early to understand operational needs, charging strategies and site constraints.
• Develop and compare high-level technical solution concepts for charging infrastructure.
• Translate requirements into optimized, feasible solutions using the Hitachi Energy portfolio.
• Coordinate with internal specialists on power-system studies, grid connection, charging equipment and energy management.
• Prepare and present technical proposals, concept descriptions and customer-facing material.
• Support project teams after awards to refine the sold solution and optimize interfaces.
