Job summary

Maersk in Zurich Airfreight Station seeks an Air Freight Operations Associate to own end-to-end shipments, coordinating with customers, carriers and colleagues across the Maersk network to ensure reliable execution from booking through completion.

You will manage priorities, resolve issues, and contribute to a high level of service while developing airfreight expertise within Maersk in an international environment.

Qualifications

• Completed commercial apprenticeship or equivalent in logistics or freight forwarding.
• Solid practical experience in airfreight operations and understanding of import/export processes.
• Further professional qualifications in freight/logistics are welcome.
• Strong ability to work independently and make sound operational decisions.
• Ownership, reliability and problem-solving ability in a fast-paced environment.
• Commercial awareness and confident interaction with customers, carriers and internal stakeholders.
• Excellent organization and relationship-building skills.
• Fluent German and English; French a plus.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage airfreight import and export shipments from booking through completion.
• Take end-to-end ownership of operational files including documentation, milestones, costs and invoicing.
• Coordinate with customers, carriers, handling agents and the Maersk network.
• Make independent operational decisions regarding routing, capacity, priorities and exceptions.
• Identify and resolve operational issues while keeping stakeholders informed.
• Ensure compliance with applicable requirements including customs and dangerous goods.
• Maintain high level of customer service and ownership of the customer experience.
• Support continuous improvement and efficiency initiatives at the Zurich Station.
