Olameter Inc. has an immediate opening for a Project Supervisor at our Vernon, BC location. This position supports our Gas Meter Survey project with FortisBC, involving brief inspections of gas meters. The project is estimated to be completed by 4/2021.

Position Overview

This is a working supervisor position. In addition to supervising the day-to-day work of a team of Gas Meter Survey Technicians, the Supervisor will also conduct gas meter surveys. The Supervisor provides training to staff and is the subject matter expert on inspecting and surveying gas meters. The role involves ensuring work quality and efficiency, resolving customer and employee issues, and assisting the Project Manager with project coordination, testing, and training. The Supervisor participates in hiring, discipline, and employee termination processes.

Compensation

$300.00 per week plus payment of 1.37 cents per meter, averaging $23-24/hr, with potential for higher earnings based on productivity. Mileage reimbursement at .45 cents per kilometer is provided. The position may require some overnight travel.

Responsibilities

• Ensure route schedules are completed as planned.
• Recommend adjustments to improve efficiency and reduce costs; update data in IFS.
• Provide guidance and training to field staff; interpret and implement company procedures and standards.
• Perform field inspections and ensure safety standards are followed.
• Resolve customer issues and escalate when necessary.
• Provide daily reports and performance feedback to the Project Manager.
• Assist in hiring, discipline, and termination processes; perform survey routes.
• Perform other duties as required.

Preferred Skills

• High School Diploma or equivalent; supervisory experience required.
• Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to teach and train others; utility-related experience preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; ability to use handheld devices and databases.
• Ability to read maps, find locations, and follow written instructions.
• Professional interaction with customers.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
