Job Title: Software Certification Lead

We are seeking a Software Certification Lead to review life‑cycle artifacts such as High‑Level Requirements (HLRs), Low‑Level Requirements (LLRs), and software architecture documents. You will also be responsible for reviewing test cases and procedures and promoting best practices for writing test cases in compliance with DO‑178 requirements.

• Review life‑cycle artifacts (HLRs, LLRs, software architecture documents).
• Review test cases and test procedures.
• Share and promote best practices for writing test cases in compliance with DO‑178 requirements.
• Participate in code coverage analysis and tool qualification reports.
• Develop and manage certification plans ensuring compliance with DO‑178C (DAL A).
• Oversee software development processes and verification and validation.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation for certification plans, processes, and compliance activities.
• Provide guidance and training on DO‑178C standards and safety practices.
• Communicate certification objectives and requirements effectively with cross‑functional teams.

• Strong experience with DO‑178C (DAL A preferred).
• Strong command of C programming language.
• Experience with embedded systems (firmware, RTOS, device drivers, BSP).

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 7 years in software development, with at least 5 years focused on safety‑critical systems and DO‑178C compliance.
• Knowledge of tool qualification (DO‑330).
• Experience with Device Drivers, BSP's, RTOS (VxWorks, Linux, etc.).

Remote work within a well‑established organization specializing in aircraft and safety certification at the operating system level.

This is a Contract position based out of Halifax, NS.

The pay range for this position is $70.00 – $90.00/hr.

This is a fully remote position.
