We are looking for an energetic, reliable Pharmacy Assistant to join our team in Orleans, Ontario. Must have great customer service skills, be able to work with or without supervision, and maintain a neat and tidy work environment.

• Patient Greeting: Confirm the accuracy of all pertinent prescription information prior to filling according to Standards.
• Data Entry: Input patient care information into Kroll.
• Third-Party Adjudication: Handle insurance claims and billing.
• Prescription Dispensing: Accurately dispense prescription medications.
• Inventory Management: Maintain pharmacy stock through inventory control systems.
• Customer Service: Assist with general OTC inquiries and refer to the Pharmacist where required.
• Prescription Handling: Manage customer prescription pick-up and handle cashier responsibilities in the Pharmacy.
• Confidentiality: Adhere to all confidentiality and privacy requirements.
• Order Management: Receive new and repeat prescription orders in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures and prepare and submit orders.
• Telephone Handling: Answer the telephone and refer to a Pharmacist when necessary.
• Fax Management: Manage incoming faxes according to Pharmacy Standards of Practice.
• Documentation: Accurately scan and file completed documentation as per Pharmacy Standards of Practice.
• Clerical Duties: Perform general clerical and tidiness duties.

• Experience: Previous experience as a Pharmacy Assistant.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency with Kroll and Microsoft Office.
• Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Communication Skills: Strong communication and customer service skills.

Flexible schedule - some evenings until 6:30 pm, very few Saturdays until 3 pm, Sundays and Holidays Off. This position will start as a regular part-time role that may extend to full-time based on performance. Compensation will be based on experience and skill set.
