TCI Canada GENERAL MANAGER
Perform functions to manage the day-to-day operations of the TC Canada facilities, including manufacturing, production control, and office administration.
Under administrative direction:
Responsible for managing all employees in TCIC/TCIC(W) through subordinate supervisors and managers. Hires, trains, assists employees, enforces policies, establishes performance standards, and evaluates employee performance.
Perform other related duties as assigned. Reports to: Vice President of Worldwide Operations.
KNOWLEDGE:
Broad knowledge of a discipline such as business, equivalent to a complete college or university education.
EXPERIENCE:
Over 7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
COMPLEXITY OF DUTIES:
Manage highly involved and technical projects, requiring broad conceptual judgment to direct manufacturing activities and make decisions with little precedent.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
Establish own performance standards within overall policy and budgetary limits, with accountability for results, including sales goals.
ERRORS:
Major errors may involve significant expenditures or loss of important customer accounts, often due to poor representation or decision-making.
CONTACTS WITH OTHERS:
Interact with internal personnel, customers, and executive management, requiring diplomacy and influencing skills to maintain business relationships.
CONFIDENTIAL DATA:
Work with confidential information such as financial statements and proprietary business data, which must be protected.
MENTAL AND/OR VISUAL DEMAND:
Continuous mental and visual attention is required for managing company operations.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Generally good, with occasional exposure to elements like odour, chemicals, dust, and noise.
CHARACTER OF SUPERVISION:
Directs and coordinates operations through subordinate supervisors, setting standards and ensuring policies are implemented.
SCOPE OF SUPERVISION:
Supervises between 50 and 100 personnel.
