As a Contaminant Hydrogeologist, you will join our Western Canadian offices as part of our Assessment, Remediation, Reclamation and Monitoring (ARRM) team. The successful applicant will be involved in a broad range of projects with responsibilities as follows:

  • Actively participate and drive Montrose’s strong safety culture
  • Oversee and/or technically support the management of site assessment, remediation and monitoring project scopes, timelines, budgets, and communication with clients and project-related stakeholders
  • Prepare and/or review technical correspondence, proposals, work plans, cost estimates, and reports
  • Ensure internal communication and collaboration to facilitate delivery of high-quality products to meet our clients’ unique project needs
  • Work within a well-organized, innovative culture with support systems that empower professionals to provide high-quality solutions
  • Transfer knowledge, share experiences, and support the training and mentorship of colleagues
  • Be part of a technical practice community that supports team and personal innovation, growth and success at all levels
  • Proactively engage in development opportunities and career growth
What We Are Looking For
  • An undergraduate or graduate degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, or a related field
  • Registration in or a member in good standing of a professional organization (e.g. APEGA)
  • A minimum of 8 years’ consulting experience in site assessment, remediation, and monitoring projects with a focus on hydrogeology
  • Knowledge of BC, Alberta and/or Saskatchewan regulatory frameworks
  • Experience with borehole logging, sample collection, field screening, and sample selection
  • Strong data evaluation skills and ability to make decisions based on findings
  • Experience writing and reviewing technical reports, work plans and cost estimates and giving presentations to multi-stakeholder groups
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written), and a collaborative attitude
  • Willingness to provide technical direction and mentorship to junior professionals
  • Experience with Workday software would be an asset
  • A valid and clean class 5 driver’s license with no restrictions
  • Preference given to those who have experience managing complex salt or hydrocarbon impacted sites
