Job description

Voyago, Transdev Ontario is hiring a dynamic, experienced, and highly effective Operations Manager for our Eastern Ontario Region.

Your Role:

Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Operations Manager is responsible for the daily operations of a growing On Demand Transit division. This role manages and oversees compliance with Key Performance Indicators, influences customer satisfaction, increases division revenue, and oversees operational effectiveness and quality. The successful candidate will serve as a key contact for management in major accounts, requiring a high degree of diplomacy and tact. The office is located in Ajax, covering an expanded Durham and Eastern Ontario region.

Operations

  1. Manage vehicle utilization, minimize deadhead.
  2. Ensure contract compliance.
  3. Oversee dispatching, routing, and tracking transportation activities.
  4. Organize and manage staff work to meet organizational requirements.
  5. Implement schedule and policy changes.
  6. Oversee startup and maintenance of local contracts.
  7. Collaborate with managers and staff to develop and implement policies, procedures, goals, and objectives.
  8. Work with Health & Safety team and government agencies to investigate accidents and improve safety procedures.
  9. Follow up on disciplinary actions.
  10. Report on KPIs, deficiency lists, and customer satisfaction surveys.
  11. Coordinate with Talent Acquisition to ensure proper staffing levels.
  12. Plan and facilitate safety and driver meetings.
  13. Monitor budgets and expenses to ensure alignment with approved budgets.
  14. Oversee payroll administration.
  15. Mentor, motivate, and manage conflict resolution.

Customer Service

  1. Serve as the main contact for daily operations.
  2. Participate in quoting new business and ensure contract compliance.
  3. Manage communication regarding the STS portal and dispatch system data integrity.
  4. Represent Transdev in the community and participate in company events.
  5. Build and maintain strong customer relationships.

Requirements

  • University or post-secondary degree or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years in supervisory/management role in operations.
  • Experience in transportation industry is an asset.
  • Full G Ontario driver’s license.
  • Clean driver’s abstract and criminal record check with Vulnerable Sector Search.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in dynamic, high-demand environments with deadlines and sensitive materials.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Ability to facilitate group meetings.
  • Willingness to participate in ongoing education.
  • Proven financial acumen.
  • Ability to travel within Ontario.
  • Strong business acumen and communication skills.
  • Leadership qualities to ensure team and customer success.
  • Familiarity with Durham and Eastern Ontario regions.
