This position will be regional in nature, focusing on pertinent North Region needs.

Here is what you will be doing:

  • Drive the implementation of Ontario Health North priorities and initiatives, supporting partners in successful project and program management.

  • Provide planning expertise for the development and management of health-care system funding plans, project plans, and budget allocation for planning, design, and implementation.

  • Identify emerging community issues and spearhead an appropriate planning response, using approaches such as needs-based predictive models and incorporating community input.

  • Act as a regional lead in monitoring implementation and ongoing quality improvement for health-care planning, in partnership with Health Equity, Priority Population, and Clinical Programs teams.

  • Analyze local health care systems using provincial data and community engagement to identify service gaps and establish regional planning priorities.

  • Foster regional collaboration, engaging regularly with partners and other Ontario Health regions to ensure alignment with Equity, Inclusion, Diversity, and Anti-Racism strategies.

  • Champion engagement and co-design approaches, ensuring the experiences of under-served and under-represented groups are considered in all planning efforts.

Here is what you will need to be successful:

Education and Experience

  • Post-secondary education in h ealth administration , health planning, business administration or a related field with Master’s level degree preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience in a health care environment.

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Health care industry

Knowledge and Skills

  • Good knowledge of and proven ability to apply multiple planning and analysis methodologies and make effective recommendations.

  • Understanding of the current and changing dynamics of the Ontario health-care system and issues.

  • K nowledge of anti-racism, anti-oppression, equity, inclusion and diversity frameworks

  • Understanding and experience with embedding quality improvement initiatives.

  • Demonstrated financial competence.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with other staff and to liaise with colleagues across Ontario Health and with contacts in the Ministry .

  • Must be highly organized and able to thrive in a face paced environment with multiple priorities .

  • Uses information to make informed decisions and provides advice; exercises high degree of independence and professional judgment in problem solving .

  • Solid written and verbal communication skills. Internally, communicates with colleagues throughout the organization to present, discuss information and problems related to financial management and funding . Externally, communicates directly with various stakeholders to monitor funding allocations and performance.

  • Strong attention to detail, demonstrated integrity and professionalism with a solid understanding of financial controls.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills required .
