IENG 2P01 Manufacturing Processes

Teaching Assistant, Course Coordinator, and Lab Demonstrator positions are paid according to the qualifications that the employee holds.

• Employees who do NOT hold a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid the undergraduate rate - $22.07 per hour (Rate effective September 1, 2024).
• Employees who hold a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid the graduate rate - $34.73 per hour (Rate effective September 1, 2024).
• In cases where additional duties are required as part of a Teaching Assistant’s duties, these hours shall be compensated at the appropriate Teaching Assistant rate.

The Teaching Assistant (TA) for the Manufacturing Processes course will support lab setup and preparation, facilitate lab sessions and machine shop demonstrations, assist with invigilation of quizzes, midterm, and final exam, grade assessments, and support student projects. Additional hours may be required for various course-related duties.

• Completion of at least 3 years in a BEng program in Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum overall GPA of 75% or higher
• Focus in Manufacturing within Mechanical Engineering
• Strong understanding of Finite Element Method (FEM) and simulation techniques
• Experience with DEFORM software is an asset
• Previous TA or instructional experience is an asset
