Job description

At ProSlide, we are championing and developing our health and safety for our global teams. In this role, the HSE Coordinator will report to the Manager of Global Field Services. The incumbent must be passionate about health, safety, and well-being of our team members and be an influencer on HSE across all our teams through program excellence.

Please note this is an in‑office position, located at our head office in Ottawa, ON, address: 2650 Queensview Dr. Unit #150, Ottawa, ON K2B 8H6.

Your Challenge
  • Support and influence a safety‑first culture with support from the Global Field Services Manager and Executives.
  • Procurement and management of all safety training and certifications.
  • Research and development of multiple best practice documents including but not limited to memos, training, and SOPS.
  • Development, revision, and implementation of HSE policies and practices.
  • Review, maintain and develop travel safety documentation and awareness.
  • Partners with the Global Field Services and Commissioning Teams to support the safe deployment of our team members across the world.
  • Participate in Pre‑deployment meetings for team members throughout the project cycle.
  • Support the Project Management team with the development of health and safety documentation specific to their projects.
  • Support the Project Management team with advice and support for all HSE items for a safe and successful project.
  • Review daily site reports to aid in health and safety best practices and considerations.
  • Oversee the pre‑qualification process for new subcontractors on a global scale for HSE documentation
  • Support the sales process with any HSE documentation needed for RFQs.
  • Identify areas for improvement, training opportunities, and work best practices.
  • Conduct and support annual Health & Safety Meeting for Global Field Services
  • Conducting inspections (as required) of job sites, facilities, and equipment for compliance with general and specific safety standards, following‑up on any non‑compliance issues and taking appropriate action to remedy them
  • Maintaining current knowledge of industry trends and practices in the area of health, safety and environment
  • Manage the Joint Health and Safety Committee.
What You Bring To The Role
  • Post‑secondary education of a degree or diploma in Occupational Health & Safety and Environment is preferred.
  • 1‑3 years of related HSE work experience within the construction industry, ideally in private sector.
  • Certified Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) or Certified Health and Safety Consultant (CHSC) would be considered a desired asset.
  • Working knowledge of provincial and local safety and environmental regulations and programs
  • Ability to work independently and as a team, self‑starter and energetic
  • Ability to facilitate health and safety information and programs
  • Ability to present to all levels of employees, including tradespersons, office and management team members.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships
  • Excellent communication, listening, and collaboration skills
  • Experience using MS Office and database systems is an asset.
  • Highly organized and detail‑oriented, with the ability to maintain accurate data
