As an Instructor, your primary responsibility will be to provide top-notch academic instruction to our students, ensuring that each student has an enjoyable, productive, challenging, and meaningful learning experience.

Major Accountabilities/Responsibilities

• Provide appropriate, intellectually stimulating instruction in each class by considering the unique abilities of each student.
• Deliver curriculum, research, and prepare lessons according to College standards/guidelines and with Department Head approval.
• Use a variety of instructional techniques to present the curriculum (lectures, demonstrations, hands-on training, case studies, independent and group projects).
• Provide individualized instruction and tutoring when required.
• Lead and support students both in-person and online.
• Consult with students regarding specific academic or vocational concerns.
• Prepare, administer, and mark student exams and assignments.
• Ensure effective classroom management techniques to keep students organized, focused, and academically productive.
• Develop and administer assessments, practical exams, and assignments to evaluate students' understanding of the course material.
• Provide constructive feedback to support student learning and development.
• Ensure accurate attendance records.
• Follow specific curriculum and activity guides in instructing on various Early Childhood Education subjects.
• Manage Learning Assistants' time appropriately and communicate class requirements effectively.
• Monitor student and staff behavior in the academic setting and work with the Student Advisory Services Team to manage classroom operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support colleagues or the College's goals and objectives.

Education and Experience

• Minimum Level 3 Early Childhood Educator Alberta Certification.
• Minimum Early Childhood Education Diploma or equivalent.
• Training and experience in FLIGHT Alberta’s Early Learning and Care Framework.
• Knowledge of various Early Childhood Curriculum Approaches (e.g., Montessori, Waldorf, Reggio Inspired).
• Experience with Moodle, PowerPoint, and Lillio (Formerly HiMama) preferred.
• Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Clearance.
• 1-2 years of instructional experience or leadership in Early Childhood Education.
• Open-minded and holistic view of Early Childhood Education preferred.
