TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST (CORPORATE TRAINER)
Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the Training and Development Specialist develops, facilitates and coordinates individual and group training sessions for team members on the use of designated software applications and tools. The Corporate Trainer is dynamic and inclusive, with a passion for improving the effectiveness and culture of an organization and people development!
This position is based in Edmonton, AB with travel required across Canada.
Key Responsibilities- Create, revise and document policies and procedures.
- Facilitates training, workshops and seminars, in-person and virtually.
- Evaluates effectiveness of training and makes necessary revisions.
- Communicate changes, process flows and other supportive documentation around process changes or departmental process changes as needed.
- Design and develop customized training and development programs to address employee skills gaps and organizational needs.
- Create materials, training modules and other resources to facilitate learning.
- Conduct audits on procedure and policy compliance.
- Provides research in key areas of Learning and Development for Adult learners.
- Promote continuous learning and a growth mindset throughout the organization.
Education & Experience- 5+ years of experience as a Training Administrator or in learning management; preferably in a product manufacturing environment.
- Post-secondary education (degree, diploma, certificate) in Adult Learning, Training and Development or a related discipline.
- A record of continuing education in customer service, learning management and leadership is desirable.
Knowledge & Requirements- High level of proficiency with MS Office (SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Strong customer service orientation; collaboration and compromise to overcome objections.
- Above average communication, interpersonal, organizational skills and time and priority management.
- Ability to initiate, develop and maintain positive and productive working relationships throughout all levels of the organization.
- Ability to analyze data and information and incorporate this information into learning and development activities.
- Listen and responds thoroughly to questions.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to develop and implement processes, and lead associated change management.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Strong decision-making ability, takes ownership of role.
