Overall Mandate:

To prepare bakery products for packaging and delivery while ensuring that the quality and quantity of the products is consistent in meeting the Company’s standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Assist and support all areas of the bakery production in the Commissary as per the direction of the Bakery Manager;
2. Responsible for the scaling, mixing, and shaping of the product;
3. Maintain standardized recipes to ensure consistent quality;
4. Assist in the ordering of department supplies and control the inventory level of product;
5. Assist the supervisor in the training and direction of part-time staff;
6. Ensure proper equipment maintenance and operations;
7. Ensure the cleanliness, sanitation, and health and safety of the department meets Company standards;
8. Other duties as required.

The Ideal Candidate Would Possess:

1. Self-motivated & quick learner
2. Ability to follow set recipes
3. Work independently with the ability to follow direction
4. Physical manual labour required
5. Excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
6. Able to work in a fast-paced, process-driven, high-volume production environment
7. Flexible to work a variety of shifts; mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends

Education/Experience:

1. 2-3 years’ experience with Baking or Food Preparation would be an asset;
2. Previous experience and knowledge with various baking equipment and Artisan baking an asset.
