Job summary

Lac La Ronge Indian Band is seeking a Youth Support Worker to assist children and youth in developing life and social skills and connecting them with community resources. The role collaborates with the Prevention & Recovery and Cultural staff in La Ronge, Morin's Hill.

Responsibilities include organizing youth committees, facilitating grief workshops, and promoting healthy lifestyles. Evening and weekend hours may be required, with strong teamwork and independent work supported by a friendly

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or combination of education and relevant experience.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask.
• Experience facilitating groups, public speaking, presentations and writing reports.
• Ability to work independently as well as a member of a team.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Ability to speak/understand Cree and/or knowledge of Cree culture is an asset.
• Basic computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Satisfactory Criminal Record Check/Vulnerable Sector Screening.
• Must possess a valid Class 5 Driver's License.

• Inspire youth to live a healthy lifestyle.
• Attend Meetings, case conferences and trainings as required.

About the facility: The Youth Support Program is located in all LLRIB Health Services, Clinics and is part of the Cultural Program located in La Ronge, Morin's Hill.
