Job summary

The City of Maple Ridge seeks Recreation Leader 3s to join our Youth Services Team. You will lead and support programs for youth aged 13–18, in a two‑level Youth Centre with spaces for action sports, climbing, social activities and creative projects.

Responsibilities include delivering diverse activities, ensuring youth safety, managing behaviour, and facilitating engagement. Training will be provided; First Aid/CPR Level C is required.

Qualifications

• Fundamentals of program leadership and instruction for youth and adults.
• Rules, regulations, procedures and policies governing work.
• Leadership and instruction for clients with varying abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction and support for skateboarding, rock climbing, media/STEAM programs, sports, and/or art.
• Ensure safety and supervision of youth in a drop‑in Youth Centre.
• Monitor and correct participant behaviour and enforce rules and policies.
• Promote interest and encourage participation in program activities.
• Monitor facility and equipment for safety, security, and maintenance.
• Assist in providing information and referrals to youth.
