Job summary

George Gordon First Nation seeks a positive Youth Outreach Worker to support family wellness programs and to organize sport, culture, and recreation activities for youth and families in the GGFN community.

Under supervision, you will coordinate youth programming, develop reports, and help secure funding through grants. Transportation and supervision duties may be required, with a focus on engaging youth through community initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 education required.
  • 0–6 months of relevant experience desired.
  • Full-Time employment term.

The George Gordon First Nation is seeking a positive, highly motivated, and energized mature individual with strong values for the position of Youth OUtreach Worker. The successful candidate will assist in delivering a family wellness program and will be responsible for organizing effective sport, culture and recreation programming for all youth and their families of the GGFN. Under the supervision of the Family Wellness Co-Ordinator this position will provide coordination to support the program objectives for the development of youth programming.
Develop, coordinate, and deliver youth wellness programs, projects, and activities including existing coordination of current programs, for example the Saskatchewan Tony Cote First Nation Games, North American Indigenous Games (NAIG), Federation of Sovereign Indigenous Nations (FSIN) Championships, etc.
Network and create partnerships with various departments of GGFN, community resources, and outside support services and resources including local schools.
Prepare reports as required and maintain an accurate data system to collect evaluations and data per activity.
Proposal and grant development to secure alternative funding sources.
Provide transportation and youth supervision as needed.
Performs all other related duties as required
