Job summary

Autismservices is looking for a highly motivated individual to join their team as a Communications/Events Coordinator. In this role, you will be responsible for creating and disseminating communication material while overseeing the planning and coordination of various events.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Draft, edit, and submit proposals.
  • Oversee the development and management of all online communication vehicles.
  • Plan, develop, and execute internal communications with employees.
  • Ensure all materials are distributed according to an appropriate timeline.
  • Measure the effectiveness of the communications strategy and produce reports.
  • Implement and develop new communication programs.
  • Oversee the coordination of events including conferences and seminars.
  • Maintain vendors and suppliers lists.
  • Administer event budgets and ensure maximized utilization.
  • Source venues, obtain quotes, and conduct site visits.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate event files.
  • Coordinate the delivery to and from events.
  • Provide administrative support to other departments.

Overview

George Gordon First Nation (GGFN) is seeking a highly motivated individual for the Communications/Events Coordinator. The Communications/Events Coordinator will report directly to the Director of Operations and is primarily responsible for creating and disseminating internal and external communication material, and also supervising and overseeing the planning, production, promotion, profitability and overall coordination of GGFN events.

Responsibilities
  • Develop communication plans and oversee the daily administration of the plan.
  • Draft, edit, and submit proposals.
  • Oversee the development, management, and maintenance of all online communication vehicles, including the GGFN website, email templates, and social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, blogs, etc.).
  • Plan, develop, and execute internal communications with employees consistent with organizational policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that all materials are developed and distributed according to an appropriate timeline.
  • Measure the effectiveness of the GGFN communications strategy and produce reports for internal analysis.
  • Understand and use media format and form requirements.
  • Implement and develop new communication programs, including direct mail, social media, and other initiatives.
  • Analyze new potential products/media to enhance the communications work of GGFN.
  • Oversee the coordination of events including conferences, seminars, dinners, training sessions, and other gatherings.
  • Maintain vendors and suppliers lists (builders, caterers, delegates, speakers).
  • Administer event budgets and ensure maximized utilization.
  • Source venues, obtain quotes, and conduct site visits.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate event files such as databases, contacts, and financial information.
  • Coordinate the delivery to and from events.
  • Periodically provide administrative support to other departments.
Qualifications
  • Completed at least some secondary school.
  • 1–2 years of experience in communications, events coordination, or a related field.
