Job summary

SWOYFC is seeking a youth ministry professional to plan, implement, and engage in youth activities in a community setting. The role focuses on creating programs that serve youth, building relationships, and developing partnerships to support ministry goals.

The candidate should demonstrate spiritual maturity, strong relational and leadership skills, and the ability to work in a team while managing administrative tasks and communicating effectively with parents and partners.

• Spiritual maturity is essential.
• Excellent relational skills with a professional approach to relationships.
• Willingness to participate within a team that undertakes a variety of weekly tasks.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities and strong interpersonal skills.
• Strong administrative and organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven ability to work independently.
• Post secondary education preferred.
• Satisfactory Criminal Reference Check (Vulnerable Persons Sector)

Responsibilities

• Work directly with youth in a Youth Centre and/or school setting.
• Attend meetings: supervisory and staff meetings, chapters, and retreats.
• Recruit and work with volunteers.
• Advocate for youth through fundraising.
• Participate in major fundraising events.
• Interact with the public, providing clear communication to parents of youth.
• Complete administrative tasks (reports, policies, etc).
• Uphold SWOYFC policies, procedures and risk management.
• Engage in training and ongoing professional development opportunities.
