Job summary

A regional family and children's service organization is seeking Youth Justice Workers for casual positions in Timmins. The role focuses on providing cognitive, life-skills, and recreational programs to young individuals aged 12-18 who are in conflict with the law. Candidates should have a university degree in Criminology or Social Work and experience delivering programs to youth. Strong communication skills and bilingualism are assets. The hourly pay ranges from $28.80 to $34.38.

Qualifications

• University degree in Criminology or Social Work, experience with youth programs preferred.
• Knowledge of legislation and policies from the Ministry of Children and Youth Services.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills required.

Responsibilities

• Provide cognitive, life-skills, and recreational programs to youth aged 12 to 18.
• Work to prevent recidivism among young offenders.

Experience delivering cognitive/clinical programs to youth

Knowledge of legislative acts and policies

Excellent communication skills

Time management skills

Bilingualism (English/French)

Education

B.A. in Social Sciences or relevant Community College diploma
