Job summary

YMCA of Niagara is seeking a dedicated Youth Action Program – Community Programs Team Member to lead after-school and evening recreational activities for youth ages 10 to 14 across Niagara sites. Position is part-time, 6-25 hours weekly, on-site in Fort Erie / Port Colborne with travel to multiple cities encouraged.

Pay ranges from $18.16 to $18.71 per hour plus YMCA membership benefits. Applicants must meet First Aid/CPR-C and PVSC requirements, and have reliable transportation for regional

Qualifications

  • Experience delivering youth recreational and leadership programs is an asset.
  • Enrolment in or completion of a university degree or college diploma in Recreation, Physical Education, Child and Youth Studies, or a related field an asset.
  • Current Intermediate / Standard First Aid & CPR-C.
  • Willingness to participate in active games regularly and plan/execute program activities.
  • Reliable transportation to programs throughout the Niagara Region is preferred.
  • PVSC clearance issued for the YMCA of Niagara is required.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and lead recreational programs for youth aged 10 to 14 at local schools in the Niagara Region.
  • Supervise and lead recreational activities during Friday night programming across Niagara.
  • Build positive relationships with youth and serve as a role model.
  • Participate in training and adhere to YMCA Child Protection Policies and Procedures.
  • Seek availability to cover two school nights and Friday nights.
