Job summary

YWCA Hamilton in Hamilton, ON, is seeking a part-time Youth Services worker for after-school programs, camps and recreation activities. The role covers 15 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 2:30-5:30pm.

The contract runs from TBD to June 29, 2027, with a 2:30-5:30pm daily schedule. The successful candidate will support children aged 4 to 12, implement engaging activities, and collaborate with the Recreational Specialist to ensure safety, documentation and alignment with YWCA policies.

Qualifications

• 2 years’ college in child and youth, social work, recreation and leisure, or recreational therapist programs or enrolled in college program, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Ensures efficient daily operation of before/after school programs, camps and recreation activities.
• Plans and implements quality programs for children aged 4 to 12 in line with YWCA policies and ministry regulations.
• Creates a nurturing environment and ensures child safety with supervision and attendance protocols.
• Develops and facilitates after-school programs with Recreational Specialist guidance.
• Maintains positive communication with parents, families and partners.
• Administers medications per policy and maintains clean, safe learning spaces.
