Job summary

The Lake Louise Ski Resort in Lake Louise, Alberta is seeking a Heavy Duty Mechanic to diagnose and repair equipment across our fleet of snowcats, loaders and excavators. This role offers a dynamic outdoor environment with safety‑focused operations and opportunities to contribute to a year‑round maintenance program.

You will perform regular inspections, troubleshoot issues, maintain equipment, and coordinate with Mountain Operations and Mechanical Services.

Qualifications

• Red Seal Journeyperson’s Heavy Duty Mechanic or Heavy-Duty Technician Certification.
• 1–2 years of experience required.
• Snow cat experience is an asset.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and communicate safely.

Responsibilities

• Regular inspections and maintenance of wheeled vehicles, over snow equipment, and stationary engines.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose defects in heavy-duty equipment.
• Report unsafe conditions or accidents to supervisor promptly.
• Maintain high safety standards and assist in maintenance projects with contractors.
• Operate fleet vehicles to evaluate maintenance results.
