Job summary

Horst Systems is seeking a Yard/Warehouse Labourer in Elmira, Ontario to support daily yard and warehouse operations. You will unload, sort, stage, and load materials for field and manufacturing teams, and work closely with the Yard/Warehouse Supervisor to keep inventory organized and deliveries on schedule.

The ideal candidate is self-motivated, adaptable, and able to work independently or with a team outdoors.

Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of Yard/Warehouse experience

Responsibilities

  • Unload incoming loads and other deliveries
  • Load trailers with orders for jobsite delivery
  • Safely operate forklifts and telehandlers to move, stage, and organize materials
  • Sort and stage incoming customer orders for storage
  • Assist with general warehouse tasks as required
  • Maintain an organized and tidy yard to ensure safety and efficiency
  • Sort through returned materials from completed projects
  • Return usable materials to stock and dispose of scrap appropriately
  • Communicate inventory or material shortages to supervisor
  • Follow all company safety procedures and PPE requirements
  • Inspect equipment before use and report maintenance needs
  • Contribute to a clean, hazard-free work environment

Reports to: Parts Coordinator (with functional direction from Senior Manager of Operations)
Classification: Permanent-Full-time, hourly
Hours of Work: 50 Hours per week, Monday – Friday
Location: 290 Union Street Elmira Ontario
Supervisory Responsibility: None
Compensation: $20-$26/hour + health care spending account + pension plan + eligibility for year end bonus
Target Start Date: August 2026

Here’s What You’ll Do: The Yard/Warehouse Labourer plays an important role in supporting Horst Systems’ daily yard and warehouse operations. This position is responsible for unloading, sorting, staging, and loading materials that support both field and manufacturing teams. Working closely with the Yard/Warehouse Supervisor and Operations team, the Yard Labourer helps maintain an organized, safe, and efficient work environment that enables smooth jobsite deliveries and effective inventory flow.

The ideal candidate is self-motivated, adaptable, and enjoys working both independently and as part of a team. The role involves physical work, outdoor activity, and close attention to safety and organization.

Your day to day will look like this:
