Job summary

Horst Systems in Ontario is seeking a Millwright Crew Leader/Foreman to lead field crews, coordinate project execution, and ensure work safely meets quality standards.

You will provide hands-on leadership, oversee installations, manage resources, and travel to Eastern Ontario for project sites, with paid travel and meals.

Qualifications

  • 1+ years of Foreman/Supervisor experience.
  • 5+ Years of Construction Experience
  • Have completed a Millwright 433A (Industrial Stream) or similar program
  • Experience within manufacturing, construction, agriculture, industrial, or project-based environments
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills

Responsibilities

  • Lead field crews, coordinate project execution, and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to Horst Systems’ quality standards.
  • Provide hands‑on leadership while overseeing installations, managing resources, and delivering successful projects.
  • Travel to job sites across Eastern Ontario; occasional overnight stays; travel and meal expenses paid.
  • Follow direction from the Project Manager.
  • Maintain a safe, respectful job site and support your crew.
  • Operate and oversee tools and machinery (forklifts, telehandlers, welders) training provided.

Department: Operations
Reports to: Project Manager
Classification: Full-time, permanent
Compensation: $30 to $40 hourly + health care spending account + pension plan + Eligibility for Year End Bonus

Reporting to the Project Manager, you’ll be a trusted leader on the job site, helping coordinate crews, maintain project schedules, uphold safety standards, and deliver quality workmanship from start to finish. If you enjoy leading by example while staying hands-on in the field, we’d like to meet you.

What You’ll Be Doing*:

As Millwright Crew Leader/Foreman, you’ll be responsible for leading field crews, coordinating project execution, and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to Horst Systems’ quality standards. You’ll provide hands‑on leadership while overseeing installations, managing resources, and delivering successful projects including but not limited to:

  • Assemble and install grain handling systems (millwrighting and equipment work). Training will be provided.
  • Follow direction from the Project Manager
  • Travel to job sites across Eastern Ontario (occasional overnight stays as needed with travel and meal expenses paid)
  • Work safely at heights of 50 Meters (fall protection training provided)
  • Use tools and machinery (forklifts, telehandlers, welders—training available)
  • Maintain a safe, respectful job site and support your crew
  • Participate in training for safe work practices, use of equipment, tools and job techniques
  • Operate and oversee the use of tools and machinery, including forklifts, telehandlers, welders, and other specialized equipment (training available)

We’re seeking a Millwright Foreman who combines strong technical expertise with leadership experience. You likely have:

  • 1+ years of Foreman/Supervisor experience
  • 5+ Years of Construction Experience
  • Have completed a Millwright 433A (Industrial Stream) or similar program
  • Experience within manufacturing, construction, agriculture, industrial, or project-based environments
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
