Job summary

GVF Group of Companies in Cambridge, Ontario, is seeking a Warehouse Assistant for a 6-month contract to help keep the warehouse organized and to ensure safe, accurate handling of bulk and bagged products. You will work closely with production teams to move items efficiently and safely.

This in-person role requires forklift experience, the ability to lift up to 25 kg, and a strong commitment to safety and cleanliness. Hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm, with occasional overtime as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Forklift operating experience is required.
  • Ability to safely lift bags weighing up to 25 kg.
  • Strong teamwork, organization and time-management skills.
  • Commitment to working safely and maintaining a clean, organized workplace.

Responsibilities

  • Load bulk and bagged products accurately and safely for customers and carriers.
  • Assist with receiving and unloading ingredients and deliveries.
  • Organize, rotate and sort inventory, pallets and totes.
  • Help maintain accurate product flow and follow FIFO practices.
  • Operate a forklift to support loading and warehouse activities.
  • Keep the warehouse, loading areas and surrounding spaces clean and organized.
  • Follow all safety procedures (HACCP, CFIA and company).
  • Report safety concerns, errors or incidents promptly.
  • Support other areas of the plant and assist with additional tasks as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with the warehouse and production teams to meet daily priorities.

Why we have this role:

We’re looking for a Warehouse Assistant to join our team on a 6-month contract. You’ll help keep our warehouse clean, organized and running efficiently while supporting inventory management, receiving and loading activities. You’ll work closely with both the warehouse and production teams to make sure products move safely and accurately.

Working with us:

This is an in-person role based out of our production facility at 486 Main Street, Cambridge, Ontario. Standard working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm. Some flexibility and occasional overtime may be required to support operational and customer needs.

Your background includes:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous warehouse or manufacturing experience is an asset
  • Forklift operating experience is required
  • Valid G Driver’s Licence
  • Ability to safely lift bags weighing up to 25 kg
  • Strong teamwork, organization and time-management skills
  • Good attention to detail and accuracy
  • Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic
  • Commitment to working safely and maintaining a clean, organized workplace
