Job summary

O Foods Ltd, located near Winnipeg, Manitoba, is seeking a Yard Utility to support yard operations, move trailers, operate equipment, and perform snow removal and site maintenance. The role requires coordination for 24/7 operations and offers an hourly wage with a comprehensive benefits package.

The position is full-time, with an evening shift from 15:30 to 24:00, 40 hours weekly, and potential overtime during peak snow periods. Applicants should be able to work safely and collaboratively.

Qualifications

  • Class 1 license with manual transmission.
  • 2+ years of heavy equipment operating experience.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and use PPE.
  • Experience operating Super B trailer is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Move van trailers onsite.
  • Operate trackmobile to load/move rail cars.
  • Snow removal across the site focusing on walkways and egress.
  • Maintain yard grass and site cleanliness.
  • Operate skid-steer, snow blower, tractor, trackmobile.
  • Handle waste bins onsite.
  • Support flexible hours during snow events.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Job description

We are seeking to fill a Yard Utility position to participate in shunting trailers, moving railcars, removing snow, yard care, material transport and general upkeep of the facility outside. The facility operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, requiring strong coordination and time management skills to ensure seamless operations

Pay:

$25.00 / hour

Key Responsibilities
  • The movement of van trailers onsite
  • Operate the trackmobile to load and move rail cars
  • Manage and clear snow throughout the site with a focus on walkways and egress
  • Manage the yard grass cutting to maintain a clean site
  • Operate various equipment, skid-steer, snow blower, tractor and zoom boom and trackmobile
  • Assist in the handling of waste bins onsite
  • Willing to work flexible hours to mitigate impact of snow events
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Class 1 license with proficiency in manual transmission
  • 2+ years of experience in operating heavy equipment
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Capable of working independently and taking initiative
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and use personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Experience operating a Super B trailer is an asset
Hours
  • Full time position, 40 hours weekly
  • Monday to Friday, evening shift, 8-hour shifts 15:30 - 24:00
  • Overtime may be required during peak periods
