Zusammenfassung

Sylvan Lake Home Hardware Building Centre is seeking a Yard Foreman to lead yard operations, supervise staff, and ensure safe, efficient handling of receiving, unloading and deliveries. You will monitor inventory, coordinate schedules, and uphold company policies to deliver strong customer service in-store.

Responsibilities include supervising yard personnel, maintaining safety and fire regulations, managing yard equipment and costs, and communicating with management to keep operations running

Qualifikationen

• High School graduation or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of retail experience is an asset.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays.

• Assist and communicate with customers, management, employees, wholesalers / manufacturer representatives, and delivery personnel.
• Move throughout the yard to monitor activities of employees, assist customers, check inventory status, and verify safety and security of the yard.
• Assume responsibilities for all yard activities.
• Supervise yard personnel, keeping productivity at peak levels.
• Supervise customer service in the yard.
• Develop and maintain receiving, unloading, and delivery schedules.
• Supervise the maintenance and safe operation of yard equipment, including forklifts, carts, pallet jack, radial arm saw, etc.
• Keep costs at or below levels determined by the Manager or Dealer-Owner.
• Report out-of-stock items and surplus items to the appropriate personnel.
• Oversee the work schedules of all full-time and part-time employees assigned to the yard.
• Supervise compliance with safety and fire regulations.
• Establish and maintain policies which minimize waste and employ labour hours productively.
• Bring actual or anticipated operating problems promptly to the attention of management.
• Make suggestions for rule or policy changes when such changes would improve sales, profits, efficiency, morale, and/or operations in general.
• Provide a good example for employees under your supervision by following company policies and procedures.
• Acknowledge customers in a friendly manner and provide assistance when required.
• When filling orders, consider add-on sales when possible, and train employees under your supervision to do the same.
• Work on additional duties and assignments as assigned by management.
• Work in a safe manner in accordance with provincial and federal safety legislation.
• Report any potential hazards and unsafe behavior to management in order to have the situation corrected.

Location: Sylvan Lake Home Hardware Building Centre Date Posted: September 23, 2026 Application Deadline: November 30, 2026 Full-Time position available at 40 hours per week TheYard Foreman oversees all yard personnel and activities, including servingcustomers in the yard and maintaining receiving, unloading, and deliveryschedules. They must execute on the operating budget and supervise compliance withsafety and fire regulations. The Supervisor is accountable for all materialsand equipment in the yard. The Yard Supervisor must perform all assigned taskswith sufficient speed and accuracy to support store efficiency and a high levelof customer service.
