Job summary

Sobkow Technologies Inc. is seeking a Yard Attendant to manage our building materials yard and on-site storage facilities. You will load/unload orders, assist with deliveries, and help customers in the yard with friendly service.

The role requires physical fitness for heavy lifting, outdoor work in all weather, and the ability to operate forklifts and pallet jacks safely (training provided). Competitive pay based on experience.

Qualifications

• Experience in yard operations and loading/unloading materials.

• Valid Class 5 driver’s licence and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Load trucks and deliver/unload orders at job sites.
• Ensure deliveries are loaded promptly to meet schedules.
• Receive, unload, and store building materials safely.
• Provide friendly, helpful service to yard customers.
• Keep the yard clean, organized and free of debris.
• Maintain inventory and label all items clearly.
• Stock and restock inventory and coordinate orders.
• Build customer orders with staging, loading and delivery coordination.
• Operate forklifts and pallet jacks safely (training provided).
• Perform other duties as required.

Job description

We are seeking a Yard Attendant to join our team! Yard Attendants are responsible for the operation of our yard, including loading and unloading materials, performing deliveries and pickups, the safe storage of product, the efficient handling of customer/contractor orders, supporting our customers in the yard with friendly and helpful service, and the overall operations of South End Lumber Timber Mart's building material yard and on-site storage facilities.

Responsibilities

• Loading trucks with orders and delivering/unloading orders at job sites.
• Ensuring all deliveries are loaded promptly to meet delivery schedules.
• Receiving, unloading and safe storage of building materials & products being shipped in from vendors.
• Providing friendly and helpful service to customers in the yard.
• Ensuring the yard is kept clean and organized, free of garbage and debris.
• Maintaining all inventory and ensuring products are kept organized.
• Stocking/re-stocking and labelling of all inventory.
• Building customer orders, including staging, loading and coordination of delivery.
• Operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment safely (training provided)
• Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

• Physically fit and able to lift and move heavy materials (up to 100 lbs) consistently throughout their shift.
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Forklift certification is an asset (training will be provided if the candidate is not certified).
• Great communication and customer service skills.
• Team player with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
• Valid Class 5 driver?s licence required.
• Communicate effectively in English.
• Ability to work Saturdays on a rotating schedule.
