Job summary

Cooper Equipment Rentals Limited in Stayner, ON seeks a hands-on equipment detailer and forklift operator to keep our yard and wash bay in top shape. You will wash, dry, detail, assist with loading/unloading, and ensure equipment is ready for use by our drivers.

We value safety, reliability, and teamwork. This role requires outdoor work year-round, lifting up to 50 lbs, and a valid driver's license with a clean abstract.

Qualifications

• Valid Class G/5 driver’s license required.
• Must provide a clean driving abstract upon request.
• Ability to stand for long periods.
• Must be able to lift approximately 50 lbs.
• Forklift license or experience operating forklifts is a definite asset.
• Comfortable with working outdoors year-round.
• Willing to work overtime when required.

Responsibilities

• Wash, dry, and detail equipment using washers and cleaning agents.
• Maintain a clean and organized equipment yard and wash bay area.
• Assist drivers with loading and unloading equipment.
• Operate forklift and other construction equipment.
• Check equipment for damage when returned; report damage and fill service tags.
• Follow all health and safety policies.
• Assist with fueling, tire storage, or moving equipment as needed.
• Communicate with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Wash, dry, and detail equipment using pressure washers, vacuums, and cleaning agents.
• Maintain a clean and organized equipment yard and wash bay area.
• Assist drivers with loading and unloading equipment.
• Operate forklift and other construction equipment.
• Check equipment for damage when returned to the yard, report damage and fill out service tags for all returned equipment.
• Follow all health and safety policies.
• Assist with fueling, tire storage, or moving equipment as needed.
• Communicate with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow.

What You’ll Bring to the Team

• Valid Class G/5 driver’s license required, with a clean or satisfactory driver’s abstract (no more than 3 demerit points). You’ll be required to provide a copy of your updated driver’s abstract upon request.
• Physical stamina and ability to stand for long periods.
• Must be able to lift approximately 50 lbs.
• Forklift license or experience operating forklifts and/or other construction equipment is a definite asset.
• Must be comfortable with working outdoors year-round.
• Available and willing to work overtime when required.
• Mechanical aptitude and/or previous experience operating equipment is an asset.
• Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Highly adaptable and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
• Self-starter, very customer-service oriented and works well in a team environment.
• Curiosity to learn new things & understand more about construction equipment and the rental industry.
• Comfortable with computers/technology (for filling out inspections, inventory management, etc.)
