Job summary

Cornerstone Co-op invites applications for the position of Yard Attendant to join our Home Centre team on a part-time basis at our location in St. Paul, AB. Reporting to the Yard Supervisor.

You will interact with member-owners and customers to provide outstanding Co-op experiences, manage inventory and merchandising, assist with lumber and yard product inquiries, and ensure a clean, safe yard area. The role requires a Grade 12 education or equivalent experience and a valid Class 5 driver’s

Responsibilities

• Engage with member-owners and customers to provide Co-op experiences.
• Maintain inventory, order, stock, merchandize and display products.
• Assist customers and contractors with lumber and yard product inquiries.
• Receive product and complete required paperwork.
• Maintain clean and safe yard area and adhere to safety procedures.
• Work varied shifts including days, evenings, weekends and holidays.

What you’ll do:

• Engage and interact with member-owners and customers to provide outstanding Co-op experiences.

• Ensure department standards are met with inventory, ordering, stocking, merchandising, and displaying products.

• Work with customers and contractors to answer inquiries about lumber and yard products.

• Receiving of product in the yard and complete required paperwork.

• Ensure proper maintenance and housekeeping.

• Be familiar with and follow all safety procedures.

• Work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays on a rotational basis.

• Demonstrate day-to-day behaviours and actions that align with and strengthen the Co-operative's vision, mission, values, brand and focus on safety.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Who you are:

• You have Grade 12 education or equivalent retail and/or customer service experience.

• You have a Class 5 driver’s license, can pass a drug and alcohol test and provide a clean 5-year Standard driver’s abstract upon hire.

• Ability to regularly lift and maneuver up to 50 lbs on a regular basis.

• You are action oriented, customer focused and work well with other Team Members.

• You are honest, trustworthy, results-oriented, and strive for excellence in your work.

• You believe in building relationships and collaborating to deliver meaningful solutions, valuing diverse perspectives to achieve shared objectives.

• You are customer-focused and passionate about delivering exceptional service and building lasting relationships.
