Job summary

Park Hyatt Toronto, part of Hyatt Hotels Corporation, is hiring a Writers Room Server. The role coordinates service stations and collaborates with front and back-of-house teams to deliver an exceptional dining experience. Reports to the Lounge Manager and operates with a strong emphasis on guest satisfaction.

The position offers an hourly rate of $18.40 plus gratuity, in a luxury hospitality setting, with opportunities to grow within Hyatt properties worldwide.

Qualifications

• Service-focused personality is essential.
• Experience in a world-class luxury brand in a similar capacity.
• Minimum 2 years in a luxury service role.
• Current Smart Serve certification.
• Flexible schedule and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and present the menu.
• Inform guests of specials and menu changes; answer questions on food/allergies.
• Take orders and relay to kitchen and bar using a POS system.
• Coordinate with hosts, service team, kitchen and bartenders.
• Present and serve wine and beer when appropriate.
• Assist with stocking and resetting stations.
• Assist with cash register at counter-service restaurant.
• Perform other duties as required.

SUMMARY

About the Role– Writer’s Room Server

A Server coordinates the entire service station and communicates with front of the house and back of the house personnel to provide a dining experience that exceeds guest expectations. Functionally reports to the Lounge Manager.

Some of the responsibilities include:

• Greets guests and presents them with the menu
• Informs guests of specials, menu changes, answers questions regarding food, beverages and allergies
• Receives food and beverage orders from guests and relays to kitchen staff and bartender using a POS system
• Communicates with the hosts, table support team, kitchen staff and bartenders to coordinate stations
• Present, open and pours wine and beer when serving guests
• Assists table support team with stocking work stations, removing and resetting used dishes/silverware
• Assists with cash register at counter-service restaurants
• Performs other duties as required or assigned

Qualifications

• Service focused personality is essential
• Previous fine dining or luxury level service knowledge and training.
• Minimum 2 year previous work experience in a world-class luxury brand in a similar capacity.
• Current Smart Serve certification.
• Must have a flexible schedule, be highly motivated and quality driven
• Must be able to lift up to 50-lbs
• Constant walking & standing
• Frequent lifting, crouching/bending/stooping/kneeling
