Job summary

Hyatt Regency Toronto is seeking a friendly, professional Host/Hostess to be the first and last contact for guests. You’ll create a welcoming atmosphere, manage reservations, and ensure a smooth dining experience from arrival to departure.

The role reports to the Assistant Food & Beverage Services Manager. This part-time position offers wage progression and opportunities to learn and grow within a renowned hospitality brand.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of customer service or hospitality experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 30 kg (70 lbs).
• Smart Serve Certification required or willingness to obtain.
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests promptly with a courteous and professional manner.
• Manage guest seating arrangements efficiently and fairly.
• Answer phone calls, handle reservations, and respond to guest inquiries.
• Maintain the reservation system and communicate updates to the team; ensure cleanliness and organization of the host stand and dining areas.
• Assist with setting and clearing tables as needed.
• Support restaurant operations, including stocking supplies and maintaining presentation standards.
• Address guest concerns or complaints calmly and professionally, escalating as required.
• Maintain awareness of menus, pricing, promotions, and daily specials.
• Follow all company service standards, policies, and procedures.
• Attend scheduled meetings and training sessions.

About the Role

Employment Type: Part-time

Wage: CAD 19.32 per hour during probation and CAD 24:14 per hour after completion of probation period

Health & Safety Responsibilities

• Report hazards, incidents, or injuries promptly

Work Conditions

• Frequent standing, walking, and light to moderate physical activity
