Job summary

The City of Edmonton is seeking a student enrolled in architectural design technology, interior design, urban planning or a related co-op program for a four-month, temporary full-time role commencing January 2027. This position sits in the Infrastructure Services Department, supporting Workspace Planning.

You will aid workspace assessments, liaise with business partners, assist with furniture management, space planning and layout design, and help manage space bookings and vendor contracts.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in an architectural design technology, interior design, urban planning or related post secondary diploma co-op program.
  • Other education programs with a work experience component may also be considered.
  • Commencing January 2027

  • Assist with office furniture management by tracking furniture requests, preparing requests for quotations and attending site meetings

Job description

1 temporary full-time position for 4 months intended specifically for students enrolled in an architectural design technology, interior design, urban planning or related co-op or equivalent post-secondary work experience diploma program. Other education programs with a work experience component may also be considered. Commencing January 2027

This position will be working within the Infrastructure Services Department and support Workspace Planning - creating spaces that support the work of the Corporation.

What will you do?
  • Aid with workspace assessments by completing project documentation and liaising with business partners

  • Design support through space planning, interior design, and furniture layouts

Qualifications:
  • Currently enrolled in an architectural design technology, interior design, urban planning or related post secondary diploma co-op program. Other education programs with a work experience component may also be considered
Assets:
  • Experience using Google Workspace applications or equivalent applications
  • Demonstrated ability using AutoCAD and reading architectural plans
  • Valid Alberta Class 5 driver's license (or provincial equivalent)

  • Ability to take measurements, record data, and take images to provide relevant visual reference for observations and data collected

Hours of Work: 33.75 hours per week, Monday - Friday

Salary Range: $21.388 - $23.854 (Hourly)
