Job summary

McRae’s Auto Electric Ltd. in Elkford is seeking a skilled electrical technician to build and wire electrical components to high standards. The role involves rebuilding starters and motors, manufacturing custom systems, and providing on-site customer support in a tight-knit shop.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of workshop experience, a mechanical trade certificate, and the ability to follow procedures with attention to detail. Red Seal is an asset; valid driver’s license preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Rebuild starters, alternators, DC motors and other automotive electrical components
  • Manufacture custom electrical systems and components
  • Build custom electrical harnesses and cables
  • Assist with shipping, receiving and general workshop duties
  • Provide customer support in our shop and at customer sites

Job description

At McRae’s Auto Electric, we specialize in heavy-duty electrical systems and components for mobile equipment. We’re looking for a skilled, detail-oriented technician to join our Elkford shop and build electrical components and wiring systems to a high standard.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Rebuild starters, alternators, DC motors and other automotive electrical components
  • Manufacture custom electrical systems and components
  • Build custom electrical harnesses and cables
  • Assist with shipping, receiving and general workshop duties
  • Provide customer support in our shop and at customer sites
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Mechanical or equivalent trade certificate
  • 3–5 years of mechanical workshop experience
  • Experience rebuilding mechanical or electrical components is highly valued
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures and specifications
  • Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic
  • Physically able to perform general workshop tasks
  • Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation
  • Red Seal certification is an asset
