Job summary

Emerald Plastics in Regina is seeking a qualified industrial mechanic to keep our PC blow-moulding line running smoothly. You will troubleshoot hydraulics, pneumatics, drives, and controls, perform PMs, and handle mould changes while maintaining logs and safety records.

You should be a skilled tradesperson with hydraulics, PLCs, and 3‑phase electrical experience; MIG welding is required, with TIG/stick as an asset, and a valid Canada license.

Qualifications

  • Journeyman ticket or equivalent.
  • Hydraulics, pneumatics, PLC-controlled equipment, 3‑phase electrical.
  • Comfort reading schematics and service manuals.
  • MIG welding required; TIG/stick an asset.
  • Blow moulding or extrusion experience is a strong plus.
  • Class 5 license; Class 1 or 3 an asset.
  • Legally able to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and PM blow-moulding machinery hydraulics, pneumatics, drives, heaters, controls, mould changes.
  • Service dryers, chillers, conveyors, and grinders.
  • Maintain light- and heavy-duty vehicles and trucks.
  • Diagnose electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical faults with test gear.

  • Respond quickly and safely to production breakdowns.

\"Chief Wrench\" Position avaiable


Emerald Plastics is a Regina blow-moulder running polycarbonate and PET. We need a mechanic who can keep our PC machines running all week and then pull a wheel off a heavy truck Monday afternoon.


What you'll do


  • Troubleshoot, repair, and PM our PC blow-moulding machines hydraulics, pneumatics, drives, heaters, controls, mould changes.

  • Service dryers, chillers, compressed air, conveyors, and grinders

  • Maintain and repair light-duty vehicles (pickups, vans, delivery units)

  • Maintain and repair heavy-duty trucks (Class 38) brakes, air, driveline, suspension, emissions, electrical.

  • Diagnose electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical faults with proper test gear.

  • Weld and fabricate for repairs and small builds.

  • Keep clean PM schedules, parts logs, and records.

  • Respond fast and safely to production breakdowns.


What we're looking for


  • Journeyman Industrial Mechanic (Millwright), Heavy Duty Equipment Tech, or Automotive Service Tech ticket or 5+ years verifiable equivalent

  • Hydraulics, pneumatics, PLC-controlled equipment, 3-phase electrical

  • Comfortable reading schematics and service manuals

  • MIG welding required; TIG/stick an asset

  • Blow moulding or extrusion experience a strong plus.

  • Class 5 required; Class 1 or 3 an asset

  • Legally able to work in Canada


Compensation


  • $25$45/hr on tickets and experience

  • overtime annual performance bonus tied to uptime, PM, and safety

  • full benefits after 3 months (health, dental, vision, prescription)

  • paid ticket renewals

  • vacation per Sask standards 3-month review.
