Job summary

Tolko Industries Ltd. in Lumby, British Columbia, seeks a Woodlands Accountant to join the Woodlands Finance Team, focusing on accurate financial reporting and analysis in a dynamic forestry business.

Ideal candidates have an accounting degree or diploma (CPA preferred), at least two years of related experience, strong teamwork and communication, and solid skills in problem-solving, analytical thinking, and MS Office. Relocation support and a competitive benefits package are offered.

  • CPA designation is preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of two years related experience.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Interpersonal, time management, attention to detail, and communication skills.
  • Problem-solving with analytical and decision-making capability.
  • Forward planning and project management.
  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
  • General knowledge of the forest industry is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in month-end financial reporting, including variance reports and account analysis.
  • Prepare and update financial statement formats, reconciliations, and journal entries.
  • Work closely with Accounts Payable to review and post invoices and expense reports, ensuring internal controls are followed.
  • Assist Operations in the compilation and accounting of fixed assets and inventories.
  • Assist in the preparation of the year-end audit file, annual budget, and forecasts.
  • Operate in a safe manner in accordance with work safe rules, regulations, and policies.

The Southern Interior Woodlands Team manages Tolko's tenure and fibre supply in the Southern Interior of British Columbia.
