Tolko Industries Ltd. invites applications for a Woodlands Accountant in High Level, Alberta. This role supports Tolko Woodlands Finance Team with month-end reporting, asset inventories, and annual budgeting, delivering accurate financial analysis in a dynamic environment.

The ideal candidate has a degree in accounting (CPA preferred) and at least two years of related experience, with strong teamwork, communication, and planning skills. Competitive salary and benefits are provided.

• CPA designation is preferred but not required.
• Minimum of two years related experience.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Excellent interpersonal, time management, attention to detail, and communication skills.
• Proactive approach to problem-solving with strong analytical and decision-making capability.
• Proficiency in forward planning and project management.
• Excellent computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
• General knowledge of the forest industry is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Assist in month-end financial reporting, including variance reports and account analysis.
• Prepare and update financial statement formats, reconciliations, and journal entries.
• Work closely with Accounts Payable to review and post invoices and expense reports, ensuring internal controls are followed.
• Assist Operations in the compilation and accounting of fixed assets and inventories.
• Assist in preparing the year-end audit file, annual budget, and forecasts.
• Operate in a safe manner in accordance with work safe rules, regulations, and policies.

We’re looking for aWoodlands Accountant to join ourWoodlands Finance Team in High Level, Alberta. High Level Woodlands manages Tolko's tenure and fibre supply supporting our High Level Lumber Division. We are dedicated to sustaining these areas to the benefit of all who live and work there.
