Job summary

The Salvation Army Canada and Bermuda Territory seeks an EWR Coordinator to monitor winter weather, coordinate emergency weather responses, and liaise with service providers and stakeholders to ensure effective program activations. The role supports reporting obligations and community engagement.

Responsibilities include coordinating communications, meetings, and media relations while aligning with BC housing contract obligations and OH&S policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in human services or equivalent required.
• Clear criminal record check through the BC Criminal Record Review Program.
• Clear TB skin test required.
• Occupational First Aid Level 1 or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Monitor weather patterns and determine the need to operate the EWR.
• Notify service providers and determine who can operate on an EWR activation.
• Send notifications to key stakeholders when emergency programs are active and coordinate activations/deactivations.
• Coordinate bi-monthly community meetings to discuss processes and activations.
• Provide media information and refer media to appropriate personnel.
