Job summary

The Salvation Army in Canada is seeking an EWR Support Worker for the Victoria ARC to provide client-centred support during the Extreme Weather Response shelter. This temporary, overnight role requires availability on short notice during the winter season (Oct 15 2026 – Apr 15 2027) in the Greater Victoria Area.

Responsibilities include assisting with registration, meals, and safety, while ensuring confidentiality and adherence to ARC policies.

Qualifications

• Willingness to support The Salvation Army mission and comply with OH&S policies.
• Ability to provide an original Background Check including Child Check if required.
• Must pass Criminal Record Check and maintain an Active Occupational First Aid Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients and provide services per procedures.
• Monitor access to the Victoria ARC and assist with registration and meals.
• Identify and de-escalate potential safety issues and coordinate with staff.
