Job summary

The Salvation Army in Canada in Victoria, BC seeks an EWR Coordinator to monitor weather patterns and trigger emergency weather responses as needed. You will coordinate with Environment Canada and service providers, sending timely notices during winter activations.

You will support BC housing contract obligations, prepare annual reports, organize bi-monthly stakeholder meetings, and build strong community relationships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor level degree in human services or equivalent.
• Clear criminal record check.
• Clear TB skin test required.
• Occupational First Aid Level 1 or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Monitor weather patterns to determine the need to operate the EWR.
• Notify the service providers and determine who is able to operate on any given EWR activation.
• Send out notification to key stakeholders when the emergency programs are operating and determine when the activation will be rescinded.
• Coordinate bi-monthly community meetings to discuss processes and activations.
• Gather data, research and required information to support annual reporting requirements.
• Develop an annual report for submission to BC housing as per contract obligations.
