Job summary

Dawson Road Maintenance is hiring Seasonal Operators with a Class 1 or 3 license to clear snow and ice on Ontario? British Columbia roads. Work is temporary, full-time, and sites include Smithers, Carnaby and Stewart B.C. Positions report to the Road Foreperson and support company production objectives.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in road maintenance, driving experience, and the ability to work in varied weather while maintaining logs and equipment.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of road maintenance and/or construction experience.
• Class 1 license preferred, or Class 3 license required.
• Two years commercial driving experience is an asset.
• Experience in snow removal is an asset.
• Knowledge of road construction materials and processes.
• Heavy Equipment Operating Certificate an asset.
• Able to manage electronic reporting using tablets.
• Minor equipment maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize safety of self and others in all aspects of the job.
• Collaborate with team to complete tasks and keep roads safe.
• Operate heavy equipment in all weather conditions on public roadways.
• Follow Supervisor daily production schedule and activities.
• Maintain daily activity logs and status of completion.
• Maintain proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment.
• Complete all work reports and maintenance logs.
