Job summary

Dawson Road Maintenance is seeking Seasonal Operators holding a Class 1 or 3 license to skillfully navigate frozen roads, clear snow and ice, and perform related duties to keep our roadways safe.

Based in British Columbia, this temporary, full-time Seasonal Operator position reports to the Road Foreperson. Travel across our province may be required. This role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and reliable operation of heavy equipment in all weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Minimum two (2) years of road maintenance and/or construction experience.
• Valid Class 1 license preferred, or 3 Driver's license is required.
• Two (2) years commercial driving experience is an asset.
• Experience in snow removal is considered an asset.
• Knowledge of road construction materials, road construction processes and industry requirements.
• Heavy Equipment Operating Certificate an asset.
• Able to manage electronic reporting using tablets.
• Minor equipment maintenance

Responsibilities

• Prioritize safety of self and others in all aspects of the job.
• Collaborate with all team members to successfully complete tasks and keep roads and service area safe and clean.
• Operate heavy equipment in all weather conditions on public roadways in a safe and appropriate manner.
• Follow direction of the Supervisor regarding daily production schedule and activities.
• Maintain a daily activity log and status of completion.
• Maintain proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment.
• Complete all work reports and maintenance logs
