Job summary

Dawson Road Maintenance in British Columbia is hiring Seasonal Operators with a Class 1 or 3 license. You will navigate snowy and icy roads, clear snow and ice, and perform related duties to keep our roadways safe for all travelers.

These positions are temporary and full-time, reporting to the Road Foreperson across multiple communities in the province. Work locations include 100 Mile House, Ashcroft, Gold Bridge, Clinton, Lillooet and surrounding areas.

Qualifications

• Minimum two (2) years of road maintenance and/or construction experience.
• Valid Class 1 preferred, or Class 3 license required.
• Two (2) years commercial driving experience is an asset.
• Experience in snow removal is considered an asset.
• Knowledge of road construction materials and processes.
• Heavy Equipment Operating Certificate an asset.
• Able to manage electronic reporting using tablets.
• Minor equipment maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize safety of self and others in all aspects of the job.
• Collaborate with team to complete daily tasks and keep roads safe.
• Operate heavy equipment in all weather on public roadways.
• Follow supervisor daily production schedule and activities.
• Maintain daily work progress and completion status.
• Maintain proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment.
• Complete all work reports and maintenance logs.
